Supporting teacher training in Kilimanjaro Region (2)

Honey Badger is supporting Second Chance Education Centre (SCEC) to host a teachers workshop for 30 local teachers.  The workshop is funded by a long time supporter of Second Chance Education centre.  Diane, has worked tirelessly to ensure that this workshop will provide important skills and motivate local teachers to use novel teaching techniques.  The trainers arrived from America, Europe and Moshi last week in order to prepare.  Over the weekend they settled into life at Honey Badger enjoying delicious home cooked African cuisine.  On Sunday we organised a trip to Marangu waterfalls for the trainers, they enjoyed getting out and about and some even braved the ‘cold’ water!!!

Sunday afternoon was busy with registration and final preparations.  The local teachers arrived, were assigned rooms and after a briefing conducted in the grounds with the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as the backdrop enjoyed a hearty meal.  After a good nights sleep and a tasty breakfast the workshop complete with 8 trainers and 30 participants is underway.  We would like to say hongera (congratulations) to Diane and her colleagues for all her hard work in making this dream a reality.  We know the workshop will be an invaluable experience for the participants.
