Our school groups make huge contributions to First Chance Education Centre
We would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to our guests and friends from the International Community School of Zurich. They have been staying with us for over a week (but have been coming annually for years). This year they have been very busy setting up a fantastic new play ground, developing the grounds and renovating a new class room for the First Chance Education Centre.
Three teachers and six dedicated students really can do alot. The group have worked hard come rain or shine. They got stuck into their tasks on day 1 and have not stopped since. ICSZ designed, commissioned and fitted a complete playground set which includes a sandpit, swings, a slide, a merry-go-round and a see-saw. The work to fit the playground and landscape the area will continue after they have left. However the students and the whole team were not afraid to get stuck in and were very involved in all aspects of the work. They did not stop there, they continued on to rennovate the class rooms for the pupils as well as the school office. The management at the school and everyone whose lives are touched by the school are truly grateful. From our side (at Honey Badger) we feel honoured to host your annual charity visit and very much welcome you and look forward to your next visit later in the year.
Here are just a few snaps of some of the work that was going on today... I will keep posting pictures as the site develops
The roof going up in the new class room, before it was just the corrugated iron, making it very hot and noisy. This going to make such a difference!
Two of the students helping moving the cement to secure the new swings.
The wonderful new sandpit....
The merry-go-round and see-saw!
The whole site... this is work in progress so watch this space...
